2014年,英國 Grove House,歐洲第一家引入升降課桌的小學,讓學生可以站立,以提升注意力和健康。
澳洲、紐西蘭、美國已多所學校使用站立課桌,但歐洲Grove House小學生是歐洲第一次使用創新的課桌。
老師:「我們在課堂上只做了兩週,已經看到非常顯著的進步,我有一個非常活耀的班級,我覺得他們因為擁有更多的自由而做出的反應。」「這會讓他們更專注,集中力更好,如果可以選擇,他們希望繼續站著,而不是回到坐著的狀態」
2022年英國有600多所小學目前正在使用站立式課桌,並將其視為主動學習策略的重要組合部份。
Mayflower Primary School副校長Rachel Salmons :「產品反應非常好,尤其是患有注意力缺陷,多重障礙和其他神經性疾病的學生,讓他們有機會與空間移動身體。」「課桌讓他們感覺更舒適,幾乎每個學生都報告說他們很享受可以起來上課的機會。」「我們還沒有發生過任何一個學生以站立為藉口來影響其他人的學習,我們甚至有學生帶父母來炫耀課桌,因此他們非常喜歡使用升降課桌。」
